Artist biography

Ruth studied Foundation Art and Design at Bournville College (then part of Birmingham Polytechnic) in 1991-92, followed by a BA(Hons) at Nottingham Trent University in Textile Design, graduating with a First in 1995. Following this Ruth explored the therapeutic benefits of Art by completing a Foundation Degree Course in Art Therapy at Sheffield University in 1996. Since then, Ruth has juggled her Artwork with being Head of Art in several Birmingham Primary Schools and bringing up her family.

She has also been integral in running a therapeutic Art group in Solihull. Her Art focuses on city, land and seascapes in acrylics with mixed media.
