Having looked at mystic, whimsical and medieval aesthetics, this figure came to mind and appeared on my page. The piece 'Starchild' brings to life a boyish figure cloaked in a starred dress, dancing barefoot in the darkness of what I imagine to be gardens or woodland. The image captures a moment, symbol or dream, and so I set it in a shrine. The image, now within a hand carved form of salvaged oak scraps, becomes more. The viewer may treat this as a shrine for ritual, memory or contemplation of the odd, magical and imagined.
