Artist Biography
Birmingham based artist who focuses on how to use colour to represent a person or place.
I am still trying to work out who I am as an artist and to be quite honest I still don’t really know and not even sure I will ever know. I think that is ok. I embrace the marks my brushes make on the canvas, as well as the way colours mix upon direct impact - using a process of application and removal, accepting the element of chance to do some of the work. I am particularly interested in light and how it affects different surfaces - how I can portray this from image to painting, whilst continuing to use bold colours to achieve this. I am constantly experimenting, trying out new pieces and projects. I am also continuing to develop my portraiture and figure work. Capturing more than just a face is a challenge, but one I enjoy working on in my spare time. I also work as a commissioning artist, working with clients to get the desired result.
About the artwork
Title of work: Friday Night Dinner

Friday Night Dinner is part of an ongoing series turning a camera roll into paintings. The true, raw moments. Key places or conversations frozen into not only a photograph but now a painting.
The idea for this specific piece really comes as a contrast to my 'Girl Dinner' square from my Paris series. Picnics of cheese and bread with wine on the Seine transformed into scampi/bacon fries, a cob and a few pints back home. Both perfect in their own way.
