Artist Biography
I have worked in various mediums over the years, doing pieces of graphic design freelance work, illustration, art, drawing, painting and many other things. I currently work part time as a tattoo artist, which works well for me as someone with autism and adhd who struggles with traditional work. I've lived in Birmingham most of my life, and currently like to make loose, gestural drawings in ink and ink wash. I use this design style for my tattoos as well, and like to make use of the unpredictable and tactile nature of traditional wet media.

A study of a cormorant. I am interested in anything which feels indifferent to, or outside of, the modern world. I like to watch these prehistoric-looking birds sun themselves in Cannon Hill Park, completely motionless, like crocodiles, with black and unknowable eyes. Often silhouetted mysteriously in the distance, they have a striking and almost geometric shape to their wings and beak.
I have used ink splatter and ink wash to create energy, and very black areas of ink which I hope reflects the cold blackness of the water where they hunt for fish, and the consciousness which I imagine is unchanged from before industrialisation and civilisation.
